i experienced the same problem too i always use keyboard to browser
through layers of folders, but now since 11.10 i have to go back to
mouse clicks. i really regret for upgrading ubuntu from 11.04 to
11.1
honestly i'd way rather see the "flickering" than tolerating the 0.2sec
delay every single time i press and hold alt-tab. It makes ubuntu feels
very sluggish and subpar comparing with Win and Mac.

I too have an annoying 0.2sec delay whenever i did alt-tab switching
and i found a solution!
It's actually configurable... for some reason compiz defaults an "alt-
tab" delay of 0.2sec. You need to change that from 0.2sec to 0sec.
I'm on 11.04 btw.

Yes this is a very annoying bug. The ibus-setup UI does not provide an
option to switch cangjie5 input to "traditional" by default. Every time
you reboot your machine you have to set it again.
To workaround this issue, I put the following line to /etc/environment:
