I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 with the latest kernel update -
3.11.0-14-generic. Up until the update, the laptop was running fine.
Now it seems the fan management has been affected in some way. During
boot up, you can hear the fan. Once the Ubuntu purple (blank) screen

I also have this issue. The menus are annoyingly slow. It appears to
