SPECIFIC STEPS:
1) Click on System Settings...
2) Click on Keyboard Layout
3) Click the Add (+) button
4) Select Spanish as the Language to add to the list for the Keyboard
5) Click the Add button
6) In the list Spanish has been added to English
7) Either click Close, or remove English then click C

Also, I want to see Week Numbers in the Clock Menu, and add additional

I click on the clock in the top-right-hand corner, and choose "Time and date
Settings"
I then click the Tab "Clock"
I want the clock to show "WeekDay" and "Date and Month" so I check those
two boxes
BUT NOTHING HAPPENS - the dialog is broken.

but you can ignore that because I am using a USB Pen Drive with Persistence
File, installed using Unebootin
the failing HD is immaterial to the issue.

I had to re-install Ubuntu after a crash, following which it only booted
into Light DM with no way forward.
