I just lost hair over non responsive vsftpd on freshly updated 1304 server till
I came here too.
I was having trouble with my ssh setup so I thought I'd do a quick install of
ftp to transfer some keys .. LOL how wrong I was...

Managed to convince synaptic (rather than ubuntu software centre) to
ugrade the ttf fonts which gave a working graphics eula tickbox
screen Looks like my big woes are done with for now.
But it looks like there is a lurking problem with the user responses
working in a terminal - I've no idea
tried to manually fix using apt-get -f ttf-fonts. from gnome-
terminal and that produces a eula that hangs waiting for an [OK]
response ... I don't know how to fix the borked install dataase any
other way now...
