since some days (auto-updates) karm ignores my settings about idle-time (10min)
and came up with the usual warning message after less than a minute.
As I use the german layout I don't know the exact english words in the
configurationmenu.

This works for me as far as suspend/resume goes (yay!), but oddly I
still get the artefact if I let GRUB time out when booting. It makes me
wonder what's different between booting normally, and having a timer run
out, then booting. Perhaps it's a separate issue from this bug.

I don't use xserver-xgl and don't have it installed but I still get this
bug. I'm running Xubuntu 7.10, compiz-fusion, and emerald with an Intel
945GM on the Intel driver.
I'll note that it's not consistent, but emerald does tend to crash when
I use alt+tab.

Aha! I finally found the right bug report. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook
s7110 with an Intel 945GM/GMS graphics chip that has the exact same
symptoms as described here. I get pixel swapping after resume (and also
