After all my messing around I now have the same freeze in an Xorg
session occasionally, with dmesg displaying the following at the exact

since Mantis is

with the php version (5.3) that ships with Lucid. While PHP got an
upgrade (from 5.2.10), Mantis stayed at 1.1.8.
So, right now, you either have to downgrade php, or build Mantis fro

I used apport-collect-data on the client workstation, I don't know how
useful that is. The print server runs Ubuntu 8.04 and doesn't appear to
have the apport-collect tool.
However, here is the CUPS error_log on the print server after setting

I think I've seen this behaviour on my MSI S271 since the last three releases
or so.
I just blacklisted the msi_laptop module and can conform that this "solves" the

Somehow my dvd-burner is no longer correctly identified. this may have
happend after the upgrade to edgy, though i'm not sure. I think the hal
device information is incorrect. Nautilus keeps asking for an empty cd.
The burner used to work and still works under that other OS.
