Just adding information that updating BIOS firmware from v.303
(08/04/2023) to v.305 (05/24/2024) using MyASUS app in Windows did not
make any difference. Resume from suspend still loses wifi.

authorized message. Why does it care about some freedesktop cookie, I am

This notebook machine is not running X, it was broken at some point of
time in the past with some usual nvidia mess, but otherwise it is
healthy, package manager seems to be happy and up to date with 16.04, so
an upgrade should not crash like this.

However, it is not present in kernel 4.16.16 and it is als
confirming that on TOSHIBA Portege, the bug has disappeared after
upgrade to 18.04 beta with kernel 4.15.0-13.

is not needed anymore and X starts OK, and the error message I mentioned above
is not reported in the log.

These messages were produced on my system after upgrading Lubuntu 17.10 to
18.04 beta.
One wants to hunt issues in syslog after upgrade, but one has to fight with
these obtrusive messages. :)

It's a pity 4.15 is not yet in Ubuntu,
in fact even with the grub edit stuff, I need
to reboot the machine once after power-on

How annoying! Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit with Gnome environment, running
Inkscape 0.48.4 from the official Ubuntu repository together with
Netbeans 8.0.2 is a total bummer.
