Since there are two new Versions of Ubuntu in between and myself getting
a new Laptop, this bug doesn't affect me anymore.

Hi there,
pardon me if this bug is already closed, but I have exactly the same one
running Ubuntu 10.10.
I never had this before neither in 10.04 nor some earlier release.
Any way how to fix this?

Exactly the same issue on shutdown. Using plymouth 0.8.2-2ubuntu2.
Changed grub to 1280x800 and using the proprietary nvidia driver.
