The bug is fixed for me by installing xserver-common and xserver-xorg-
core version 2:1.18.4-0ubuntu0.8 from xenial-proposed. I will continue
to run this version and watch for problems, but it seems good so far.

On a Dell Inspiron 1525, audio volume control does not work correctly in
precise, but it used to work perfectly in oneric.
In terms of audio devices visible to the user, this laptop has:
* one pair of internal stereo speakers
* two front headphone jacks
* one front microphone
Changing status to Fix Released because the bug is no longer apparent in
Kubuntu 11.10.
I have currently got installed plasma-widget-networkmanagement
0.9~20111023.ff842e-0ubuntu1 (amd64), which is not the version from the
11.10 repositories.

The user interface to configure these events does exist in KDE 4.x. It
is in System Settings under Notifications. Choose the "Network
Management" event source from the drop-down.

broken, including the "Network Connection Succeeded"

Discovered bug while searching a PDF that had been output by LyX. This
could be reasonably frustrating in very long documents. I'm fairly sure
this bug was not present in kpdf on KDE 3, as I remember being able to
search for words with ligatures in them when I first discovered
