Edgy became a release candidate and this bug is still wide open!
The only way to get rid of those freezes is to comment out Load "dri" in
xorg.conf. Maybe this should be the default for all modern ATI cards as
a workaround?

Any application that requires 3D, including screensavers, glxgears and

The plugin does not function in edgy knot 2.
The command "ldd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so" showed that
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 was missing.
Fix:
1) Include softlink /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 ->
/usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 in the package.

A IBM Thinkpad T41 fails with kernel 2.6.17-7-generic too.
The system can't resume from suspend and hibernate crashes with a blank screen.
Kernel 2.6.17-6-686 handles suspension fine and hibernate does something with
the system but it ain't a hibernation. ;)
