tools using libraries for ex can be built without needing the complete
source code (which is very big).

When starting GNUGK (/etc/init.d/gnugk start), the pid file is not created.
In fact the directory /var/run/gnugk does not exist on reboots.
To try to solve this, I changed the init script to create the directory but th
pid was still not created.
