I've just done that, and reproduced the disappearing behaviour in Nautilus. One thing, i was wrong about it saying 'Starting FTP', it was actually saying 'Starting File Browser'. (then disappears.) I reproduced the problem exactly as i describe to you * twice* and then had al look in the /var/cra
