On my NC6000, I have a partial window update with all applications when I use
Unity 3D.

I found NO xml files in my Music folder, nor in my Podcasts folder.
Apparently Rhytmbox xml files are in .local/share/rhytmbox, and I have

Since my upgrade to 12.04 LTS, I noticed that after about 4-5 days of non-stop,
no-logout, session my system became un responsive :
Disk continuously active, clock applet stopped , no kbd answer, time-out on
remote access.
This is what happens when you get out of memory.

I use Rhythmbox to manage 15 podcasts.
Since about 3 month, on each start of Rhythmbox, a lot of already downloaded
episodes appear with an "empty" status.
(See screenshot)
Double clicking on it mark them first as "waiting" then "downloaded"
(very quick) and the episode app
At the second try, it worked. I activated the braodband network and got
connected.

Nautilus crashes (segmentation fault) after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10

Installing DropBox seemed to have restarted Nautilus, but just for ONE
time.
Issuing nautilus in a terminal allowed Nautilus to run almost normally.
But after quitting (^C in the terminal), next invocations of nautilus
crashed again with segmentation fault.

That is THE problem :
1- I just noticed a delay when connecting my Win XP PC to the samba share.
(maybe , no sure)
2- the connection was OK after that
At the end of the day I checked my mailbox and found the "panic"
message, with NO backtrace.
Nothing in syslog.
What can I do now to get mor

TTYS0 does not work on my NC6000 / Ubuntu 10.04, updated today.
When I try to use /dev/ttyS0, I get a "no such device" answer and an
"ttyS0 LSR safety check engaged" in syslog.
I DO need the infrared port to connect my mobile phone (an old one, without
bluetooth, but working fine).

But in an pdf document opened by Evince, clicking a mailto link leads to the

The key is correctly recognized and appears in Network manager when it
is inserted before boot, but not when inserted after logging.

- Boot the machine
- log in

Apparently, this issue disappeared in the official release.
I was able to install it with almost no problem on my nc6000.
Anyway, as I never got the system up I would be unable to run the apport

After installing ubuntu-10.04-rc-desktop-i386 on an USB key, I tried it
on a Compaq(HP) NC6000 laptop (a rather old machine running happily
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS)
I got the first purple screen, then the ubuntu logo with blinking
dots that never ends.
Trying to change console (
On VirtualBox 3.1.2 r56127, the "ubuntu-10.04-rc-desktop-i386.iso"
freezes during boot.
First purple screen, then black screen. No disk/cdrom activity.
No way to get any information.
Host : Ubuntu 9.10 desktop 32bits.
