The bug is fixed in
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/current/.
However notice there is no 32-bit kernel version.
One-shot fix is:
*sudo intel_reg_write 0x9404 0x1800*
which remove pixel flickering for my purpose.

Unfortunately yes, lot of problems with intel gpu. I got random X
restart, where I lost windows-decoration and all unity stuff (without
being able to get it back ). Additionally I got glitches and artifacts
playing games - I've reported bug in intel-gpu bugzilla
