Thanks I fixed the issue, by cleaning the driver from envy and re
installing from envy.
AFAIK envy was not the problem. It was I forced 100.14.11 at sometime
recently. Ironically, the only solution came from envy. It fixed my
driver issues. Thanks
Note : I also had to run dpkg-reconfigure xserver
Well after step 6 of B I got an error of your OS is not supported by
Envy. So I cannot proceed any more.

I confirm this with hp pavillion dv6000. IT is happenining since edgy. I
also heard this happens on Suse too.

I can confirm this bug with my HP dv6000 series computer. Note that this
is not ubuntu specific. Some people argue it is on the bios and/or
kernel level. And some other people the issue (specifically for

Yes I am running Gnome. And this happens within the Gnome-Terminal. And
it always happens. Though I also have kubuntu-desktop installed. But I
do not think it has anything to do with this.
