I run the release upgrade from a completely up-to-date 12.04 from the Update
Manager and it completed without problem. After the upgrade had finished I
performed the restart and faced the
grub rescue>
prompt and got puzzled understandably.
Then I searched and found this bug and figured out that
I have the same issue with this kind of device and I've opened a bug for
NetworkManager.

I would like to confirm, that with a fresh installation of Hardy
(without update) the following workaround gave satisfactory results.
By modifying /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the following:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Driver "openchrome"
Option "XaaNo
A typo in the second paragraph correctly: "It is not my Xubuntu
8.04.1 ONLY, that ..."
Additionally, I'm sorry for the large picture file... I forgot to
