something's being multiplied by the scaling factor on Wayland that
shouldn't be.

Hmm, this might be scaling related. I set my laptop to 100% scaling
(instead of 200%) and the bug seemed to disappear.
Unfortunately, using 100% scaling on a HiDPI laptop is not a practical
solution.

Its intermittent but about 50 times a day between web and terminal, or
any different software the copy just doesn't take until i do it a second

applied, but then I get a different crash when turning off the monitor.

a number of the workarounds I have found on the net with no success. I
have Dell 4600i mobo with 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller. I am
using an older model Adtec LCD monitor that only goes 1024x768 @75hz. l

Forgot to mention: This is a regression, it worked fine with 9.04 and
8.10.

No crashes, but whereas MP3s used to play in the browser, they're now
either passed off to a separate totem process, or I get an alert about
not having the needed plugins. I think the former is under 3.0 and the
latter is 3.5B but I'm not entirely sure. I'm also not the only one with
this issue; go
