I was having this problem with plymouth-upstart-bridge respawning repeatedly
during boot. Machine still came up, but boot seemed to be delayed.

Here are some relevant log lines from bootup (when b43 fails to
activate), then I press Fn-F2 and that activates the radio properly.
Looks like maybe nw-manager is trying to bring up the interface before
b43 has loaded firmware.

This does look to be a change in behavior in the b43 driver.
With 2.6.31-16, I have to manually "turn on" wifi via keypress
on my laptop. Upon keypress, kernel drivers are loaded and the
interface is brought up.
With 2.6.28-16 and earlier, the kernel module is loaded the interface
