Public bug reported:
Screen corruption occurs after restarting from hibernation or suspend in
Ubuntu 9.10. Don't know if it is hibernate or suspend. Problem occurs
after I close the lid on my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop. Machine powers
off. When I later restart the machine, the screen corruption o

I installed pythonlaunchpadlib (with Synaptic Package Manager) and then I

Public bug reported:
Tried the 9.04 amd-64 live cd on my 64-bit Acer Aspire 5100 laptop, and
was able to establish a wireless connection. On 8.10 I was completely
unable to configure the wireless, and on 8.04 it was a painful but
eventually successful procedure. After confirming that wireless wo

Ubuntu version 9.04 amd-64 hibernate now works properly, but after the

The workaround is to turn the printer off and turn it back on. 9.04 was

Thanks, Michele.
I think I have spent enough time and effort on it, so I am going to hold off
until 9.04 comes out.

I previously downloaded madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6. I have already seen the
instructions at the link you gave, but I found the English so poor that I
could not understand the instructions. For instance, "1) First purge any
presence or activity of any form of ndiswrapper" -- what does that mean in

access working. I wonder if there is a way to partially install madwifi
without affecting the 2.6.24-22 kernel, but still enable wireless
