Strange thing happened here during Lucid to Maverick upgrade.
Hardware: Asus eeepc 1005PE hooked to a Hyundai external monitor res
1440x900 and a Logitech external usb mouse/keyboard

I just have to set /apps/gnome-power-manager/notify/low_capacity = false
to avoid the 1% warning popup at startup.
Mine never attempted to shutdown because of that (even if low_capacity flag is

Update from Karmic to lucid going wrong on an eeepc 701 4G, on an
external 8G SSD
After hitting the "policykit-1" error, all packages upgrades then seem
to fail
The lucid upgrade then aborted "in the middle of the road", leaving a
unusable system in place (will need to download the iso and reinst

Ok nadamsieee, I came to this conclusion because I looked at files in
/usr/share/pyshared/glchess and find out that the error message for
OpenGL libs missing (the last one I had after installing the python-
gtkglext1 and python-opengl packages) was due to an import statement in
chessview.py

in glchess was at start unavailable.
The fix is to add a link to LibGL.so:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/libG

Hi,
I had the same problem with no logout sound after upgrading from Feisty
to Gutsy.
I've first been surprised by the Unistallation package window, which
appears just before starting the upgrade. The package "esound" was
listed as being uninstalled during the upgrade.
After the upgrade to Gutsy
Just tried your tip but it does not work for me.
The remote server was already stopped.
Enabling or disabling it has no effect, the X server always restarts at
logout, and always uses VT9 instead of VT7.

2 burned as a live CD.
I first booted on the live CD, plugged in the scanner, then started xsane from
the Applications menu.
The scanner was recognized, but trying a preview scan hunged xsane.

Well, I'm now able to run correctly my Canon N650U with xsane although it was
not working at all in Feisty, even when trying with scanbuttond. Everything
works, preview, scan, calibration, and return of the lamp back to stop position.
