I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu 9.04, the problem seems to occur only
when Ubuntu is installed from Windows XP. When booting using the Live CD
this problem does not occur.
The work around by Sebastian Urban, solves the problem with no obvious
side effects:
sudo modprobe -r psmouse
sudo modprobe
Just crashed again, minutes later (it was working for hours before!).
However, I get a different memory error this time...
