I printed a text file yesterday with no problems, so I can positively
confirm that the script works for the Ricoh MP C2000 (and will probably
work for MP C2500 and MP C3000 -- models which share the same printer
manual).

Till, the old filter still worked fine for me. I've installed the new
one and will see what happens when I need to print again.

The pdftops CUPS filter script, replacing /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops
fixes this problem for me (using a Ricoh MP C2000).
Unfortunately, installing the CUPS security upgrade today replaced the
script with the original binary blob, which in turn brought the problem
back.
Any way to avoid this hap
