I have the same problem with an USB stick in 12.04, trying to unset the
bootable flag.

If you happen to be using the Lightning add-on with a remote calendar
over https together with an e-mail account over https it could be this
bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390036.

Seems to have gone away in Thunderbird for me with Karmic, but still
there on Java apps.

Could we at least keep this bug open as a "wishlist"? It is a
regression from 9.04 anyway. It should be configurable to achieve the
same behaviour as previously (just type password and hit enter, nothing
more), even if it is not the default.

Guidelines or not... think practical, in the end the missing icons in
System and Places menus look like a bug to the common user. It doesn't
look clean or professional, but rather opposite; buggy, incomplete,
inconsistent. Is this Linux for Human Beings or Linux for Guideline
Obsessives?

I should add that I'm experiencing a major performance impact with
EXANoDownloadFromScreen, so it might not be worth it.
Looks like there is another Ubuntu bug report linked to the same xorg
issue, Bug #291053, maybe this should be marked as a duplicate of that.

Thunderbird shows graphic erro
Thanks to Alex Deucher on the xorg mailing lists I found the
corresponding xorg bug and a workaround:
Bug 18397: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18397
Adding this to my xorg.conf under the "Device" section fixed it for me:
Option "EXANoDownloadFromScreen" "true"
** Bug watch added:
I have not seen this in Firefox myself, are they the same kind? It seems
only certain GUI widgets are affected; in thunderbird only on the bullet
points, in java apps only checkboxes and the "fold/unfold" arrows.
Anyway, my graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.

Thunderbird shows grap
No fix for this? I wonder if this bug belongs to the radeon or xorg
package, not thunderbird. Does anyone know if this is reported anywhere
else? The artifacts are annoying and it is no longer possible for me to
use the fglrx in 9.04.

Same for me in Thunderbird after switching to the radeon driver. But I
get similar glitches on some widgets in Java applications as well, see
attached screenshot.
