It's more than OK with me. It's fantastic that someone's going to look
into fixing the crash. Thank you very much.
And I hope that finals go well.

You received this bug
Marlin: you might want to add that comment to bug 278415 as well (that's
the report about the crash).
Basically, it sounds like this package is in exactly the same (unusable)
state it was in in intrepid :-(

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 211578 ***

Not only does the duplicate status seem suspect, but the duplicate is
now marked as INVALID.
That sort-of suggests to me that this bug has entered some kind of black
hole where it's not going to be addressed.
This bug persists.
Just a few days ago, there was an e-mail on the official Kubuntu-users
reflector (message gra4j5$iv...@ger.gmane.org) telling someone to get
key 9423A34CCA967634 from keyserver.ubuntu.com.
A search on pgp.mit.edu indicates that that key has not been propagated

Is this invalid because it's a problem with backports rather than an
official repository???
Please, someone just tell me the reason so I don't have to guess.
(And if that is the reason, then I'll know in future not to include
backports on a production machine.)

unable to install kdeplasma-ad
Yes, I know how to do it. My principal point, though, is that in general
one doesn't bother installing debug symbols for a particular application
until after one's had a crash -- which is too late.
The ideal time to make the decision to install debug libraries would be
during system installation.
Please, why is this marked INVALID?
The error I receive following the update is exactly as I quoted;
synaptic won't let me install kdeplasma-addons, without which lots of
plasmoids are unavailable. What about that is invalid?
