The solutions above really are about all that's necessary. That said,
the sheer PITA level of hunting this down was increased exponentially by
the failure of the script to push any of the errors to the logs. Despite
multiple failures both from this and from "ushare -f /etc/ushare.conf"

Honestly, I'm not sure I agree - This "idea" blocked my installation.
Proper error handling isn't a feature request.

Any fixes in sight?
For more information, here's a post I made on the subject to my LUG:

Any chance of a backport? The current version in Hardy (2.4.1, four
releases behind the current build) does not function, lacking support
for three of the five-six major networks.

There aren't many, but it's moments like this that make me miss Gentoo

Public bug reported:
I recently was unable to complete an install from a flawed CD-R with an
invalid localizations deb. This shouldn't have blocked the installation

that. If it's not the kernel, init, apt/dpkg, or a handful of ot
Been three months. Has there been an update? Also, given the nature of

Public bug reported:
I restarted vsftpd with an error in my vsftpd.conf file. I had a line
reading "userlist_deny" instead of "userlist_deny=YES". When I
restarted vsftpd via the /etc/init.d/vsftpd init script, it appeared to
work. However, ps axuw|grep vsftpd returned nothing. Also, port 21

dependencies of Ubuntu's IlohaMail, assuming that there are some changes
that would make a merge of debian's IlohaMail package difficult.

Public bug reported:
I ran IlohaMail on php5 for 6 months without problems in Gentoo before
throwing Ubuntu on my box. There's no reason that I'm aware of to
continue to require php4 for current versions of ilohaMail.
