Hi Chris, It doesnt happen at regular intervals. unpredictable when it
happens, but when happens , it repeats once in 30 to 60 seconds,
External monitor goes black for half second or so. Sorry I am not
technical, So I dont know how to do this all.

I have Ubuntu 12.04 on my dell vostro 1450 Laptop, with Dell 22"
External Monitor. Problem is, External monitor periodically goes black
for a half-second. Sometimes times it will be stable, but sometimes this
problem is more.
someone else reported same issue on ubuntu
@chris.. No, I had not edited any file, just installed that package from
repositories long back, but never used that.

The address bar and search bar in Firefox stopped working after I
upgraded from FF 10 to 11 in ubuntu 10.04. Typing in URLs or search
phrases is not followed by any FF activity. I can open URLs from
bookmarks though.
Also, I cannot access "Manage search engines", the Add-ons-
