I've got 16GB of RAM. It's a pretty new laptop - LG Gram 17Z90p
Before my changes initrd had size 118MB, after changes: 27MB.

After upgrading to 22.04 system is unbootable because of "out of memory" error
when loading initial ramdisk. I was able to fix it by editing cat
/etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf
and changing configuration to:
MODULES=dep
COMPRESS=xz
RUNSIZE=15%
Not sure which one helped,
Same problem here on 16.04.
I'm wild-guessing that's Qt and Nvidia proprietary drivers related problem,
because it's not hapenning on my laptop which has been cloned and have no
Nvidia drivers.
Last line of my trace is:

I've just tried to change my workflow to be less distracted on current task
(ie. by unread email counter), but there is no way to do that when all apps
from another workspace are still visible.
If they didn't change anything for 5 years so I suppose I shouldn't expect such
behaviour on 16.04 :/
Now It's working for me also.

I've got newest version from repository (update mentioned earlier is
installed)
I know how to reproduce that now:
1) Use Facebook account
2) Open chat with someone
3) Write, close chat window
4) Wait for response, don't open notification yet
5) Reconnect network
6) Write Reply to message another
It happens every time even on fresh session, after reboot. Maybe it is
cause of connecting to vpn (network change / disconnect)?
