This was VERY helpful! Thanks!
But why must that be that freaky?
I love OSS, really! - but sometimes I doubt, if anybody understands that
things like "./autogen.sh" etc. aren't suitable for common people?!
Upstream, "apt-get install usbip" would be great, otherwise nobody could
really use it.

Same problem: I'd love a way to permanently disable this whole useless,

Thanks, I'm not so trained in filing bugs in such complex packages (read: my
first) and still have no clue wether it's a packaging, upstream or indivdual
case..
Though it should be solved, I really like OSS and Ubuntu; IMHO for every and
each of such really annoying bugs fully breaking the emai
Public bug reported:
Since about one week after upgrading to 12.04 Thunderbird crashes after
a few seconds.
What I did:

It would be good to get this resolved, it worked basically some months
back but now with the change from SF to kernel-tree things are fully
messed up somehow (12.04), the modules on the client cannot be loaded at
all and cannot connect to a recent server (on OpenWRT, kernel 3.3.5) due

Maybe related, maybe not: thunderbird crashes since approx. a week 100% within
5 secs (well after upgrade to 12.04!) with some "GLX stuff". (do I need this
for reading plaintext-emails?)
No addons, all disabled..

I feared that, just wanted to be as specific as possible.. Thanks for
re-assigning.
Just noted "ubuntu-bug" (apport) didn't attach that many details as I expected,
its my first time using it ;)
So if you need any further details, please let me know! (in which
flavour preferred, I guess I'm also

Public bug reported:
When closing the lid, my system doesn't suspend although configured to do so
(Unity settings)
- Pressing suspend on the bar works.
- /etc/acpi/lid.sh gets called but only turns off the screen
-> Dont know though wether this is a Unity, X or ACPI-problem..
adding a /etc/acpi
Same issue here after setting up a new laptop with 11.10:
Opening the Template via setting on the new PC and simply renaming the title
from Neue Notizbuchvorlage to "Neue Notizbuchvorlage2" resolved it.
