problems I was seeing with 34 went away, and things are solid again. It

It would appear that the nv driver has been removed from Ubuntu 11.10.
The immediate work around here would be to use the nouveau driver
instead.
I would like to request, perhaps it should be a bug of its own, that we
bring the nv driver back. When putting together a multi-monitor setup
