the special kernel from this PPA for the detachable keyboard to work:

While doing tests for bug 1652815 on my SP4, I noticed that if I used
the mouse pad on the Type keyboard[1] - the mouse would not respond in X
- if I plugged in an external mouse to the USB port - everything was
fine.

I am getting the same problem
Ubuntu 8.10 32bit, Pretty much the same as the post above
A bit more information
It is not just white dots, it is also black dots. When you have video
displaying bright colours or white, you see black dots, lines. Youtube seems to
be the only one effected, I tried

I am getting this problem, and I am running gutsy 7.10 (released) on a fairly
fresh install.
Its 64 bit, and I am also getting a bug that when I try to go to the "Quit"
selection (logoff, restart, shuttdown) my computer hangs
is there an actual fix?
