There is a new loop-aes version in Debian experimental (3.1f-1)
which fixes builds with kernels > 2.6.
We are also seeing this problem on an Acer Travelmate 4000 with kernel
2.6.15-26-686 (2.6.15-26.45).
Repeatedly querying the battery status like below causes most key
presses to be lost (about 1 in 10 works) and makes the mouse move in a
jerky way:
$ while :; do cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state;

The file modules/loop-aes/debian/rules does not have execute permissions.
Building loop-aes-source using both module-assistant and kernel-pac
A friendly Ubuntu user sent a message telling me about this bug. I'm not
clear what the current status is, but I can provide a simple fix. It has
already been included in later versions of the package. HTH.
