Resurrecting this bug. In order to backport hwlib to Focal, it needs
rustc-1.82 to build. Therefore, rustc-1.82 will indeed be backported to
Focal after all.

Ah, I must have misunderstood our chat. Yes, that works fine for me.

Thanks for reaching out- you're not alone in needing more up-to-date
Rust versions[1]. We have been working on this; as of today Rust 1.82 is
now available in the archive for all supported Ubuntu versions[2]. We
plan to backport further Rust releases if necessary.
