Ok, I confirm the script works with a Samsung NP535U3C (no changes
needed).

Also: do I need a "hard reset" to make the script work? I've saved the
script in /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d, suspended, resumed, but closing the
lid didn't trigger a suspension. So I was wondering if some other
operation is needed to make it work. Thanks again to juanmanuel for the
effort and the pa
The command "dmesg | grep EC" doesn't let me retrieve that information.
I have a Samsung NP535U3C. How can I obtain those two values
("command/status" and "data")?

It seems that suspension on lid close stopped working for me as well. It
was working two days ago, now it doesn't. So, whatever the reason,
changing that GRUB option doesn't help at the moment. Really
frustrating.

I would say this option has no effect on the CPU temperature.

I confirm that adding the option
acpi_osi='!Windows 2012'
to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub at least makes the
lid close suspension behave correctly. It's been two weeks since I made
that change, I suspended and rebooted several times, and still when I

The solution proposed by Agustin seems to work for me - at least, I
suspended and resumed twice and everything seems to work fine for the
moment. But shouldn't the grub option be
acpi_osi='!Windows 2012'
instead of
acpi_osi=Windows 2012
?

For me, that workaround alleviates the problem, but doesn't solve it.
Fonts in the top bar still look worse than in the rest of the screen
(not as smooth as when using Ambiance).

Adolfo, could you explain how this bug can be "workarounded"?

Yes, it works, but in my case, after three suspension/resume cycles, the
acpi problem is there again. The laptop also fails to suspend when the
lid is closed, even though it should do that with the adapter both
plugged and unplugged.
