I've tripped over this bug so many times and it's killing my SSD. I have
manual compaction turned on and I only compact when the saving is over
1G. And approximately 1 in 16 times the compaction becomes pathological;
it just keeps consuming disk until the disk is full, the highest I have

What happened: GPU drivers are removed, preventing graphical interfaces from
being used
apt logs:
Thinkpad x201 and ubuntu 10.04.1. At first I thought it was wireless
hanging the system until it picked up a connection, but I tried
suspending and resuming w/ the card off (via hardware switch) and it was
the same 3-4 seconds of unresponsiveness. Let me know what else I can
provide/test.

Have a brand new i5 540-based x201 and encountered this issue with 10.04
x86_64. #107 is working for me as well. After deb install and reboot X
would not start though:
(EE) VESA: Kernel modesetting driver in use, refusing to load
(EE) No devices detected
Restarting X and removing /etc/X11/xo
Started with Hardy x64, then upgraded to Intrepid. Audio has always
worked fine. Then I installed kde and upon logging in would get an error
to the effect of "your intel alc888 audio device doesn't work; falling
back to default". Got it working by following the instructions here:
