After installing the system I immediately installed nvidia drivers 331, I had
to immediately update them because I had
@alexbottoni I reproduced it with Qt 5.0.2 on Linux Mint too, I suppose
the fix is released in a later version. I recommend installing Qt 5.3
from http://qt-project.org/downloads , which works fine.

I tried everything once more again but unfortunately:
1 the Dymo printer is not recognized as printer, just as USB device;
2 i thought i found another USB port when i had run the cupsys upgrade to
1.3.0. again, but after installing the Dymo on that port the (garbled) output
