Yes I hear sound.
Also, to clarify, I can playback many different kinds of audio formats,

Umh, my nic works nicely when configured. The problem is that it does
not show up in the applet when it is not configured. IE one cant select
it to configure it.

Okay, I think it was because I saw the icon at one time in hoary I
think and I could not load it, and the error message was that the qt-lib
was missing ..
So I guess when I plug in a hp printer it will install the missing lib
and load the tool.

Argh .. the timezone was not set in Evolution . so it used UTC ... I
corrected it and now everything works fine .. though I had to change my
appointments manually .. they all jumped ahead 2 hours.
