Ubuntu 12.04 with all updates.
After Upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04LTS, I noticed that, though the
desktop displays properly, it has actually been moved from
/home/username/Desktop to /home/username/Music/Desktop
At the same time, there is no folder /Desktop in the /home/user

messed up everything by having incomplete / broken packages and as a
result I had to use terminal to fix the broken stuff to even get a GUI.

I have downloaded 10.04 and done a test as a live session user from a
usb, no difference between the 9.10 and 10.04. It seems not to be fixed
yet.

Open office crashes when trying to set up Bibliography Database

Further to my earlier message, after a reboot, the ubuntuone icon
appeared on the panel. It seems that the issue that is outstanding is
minor and some kind of "force reload" would fix it.

I did the update and indeed I get the dialogue box now when accessing it
from the applications menu. I changed the setting to be always visible,
but when I close the box it does not show on the panel. There is
progress, but we are not there yet.
