I installed Natty a couple of days ago. When Unity came up, it was
sluggish and many apps crashed. I switched to "classic with no effects",

- After network-manager touched the card I cannot configure it by hand,
it misbehaves, does not change channel automatically, gets
dissasociated,etc. I had to unplug the card and re-plug it to make it
work.
With network-manager, you can see there is no key conigured:
# iwconfig
lo
I have the same problem in an up-to-date lucid. iIf i run iwconfig as
root, I can see that there is no key configured. If I add it by hand, it
works.
This same dongle works perfectly in Debian squeeze.

I found something related to this: in my case (1001px-WHI050S),
everything worked out of the box, and I *thought* the mic didn't work
because of the balance issue. In fact, it works, but the mic in mono,
and is converted into a stereo stream with one channel having the same
values as the other, but
I have uploaded a fix for this problem to Debian a couple of days ago. I
guess you can safely install the Debian package on Ubuntu.
