Public bug reported:
In Ubuntu 21.04 beta (using the wayland session) when unmaximizing a
window by dragging it off from the top bar at least two bugs happen
randomly.
1. The window might not unmaximize at all but keeps it's maximized size.
2. The unmaximize animation does not play correctly (onl
Tested Ubuntu 20.04 (kernel 5.4.0-52-generic) with the old HP Pavilion
dv6 laptop and the bug seems to still exist.
Disabling the Plymouth boot screen fixes this bug (changing
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT from "quiet splash" to "quiet" in
/etc/default/grub).
Also closing and opening the laptop lid
Tested with the daily image (Ubuntu 15.10 with kernel 4.2.0-7-generic) and the
bug still exists.
This is odd since installing 4.2 kernel to 15.04 fixed this bug.
The bug also does not appear when booting from a live USB -stick only when
installing to the hard drive.
I still think that this bug
Tested 4.2 rc5 and it fixes this bug.
The laptop previously had 14.04 which did not have this bug. Also the 15.04
live CD did not have this bug.
It appeared only after installing updates.
It seems that this bug is duplicate of #1472794.

Public bug reported:
When booting HP Pavilion dv6-6145eo with Ubuntu 15.04 the laptop monitor

If I suspend and resume the computer (close and open the lid) when I
hear the login sound the monitor turns back on and the computers works
just fine.

I tested Ubuntu 13.10 and it does NOT have this bug.
Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 both have this bug, so it broke somewhere between 13.10

Workaround:
Place the external monitor on the left side and laptop monitor on the right.
This way the laptop monitor with "invalid" width won't miss align the picture

I can confirm that the workaround works.
Suspending with "sudo pm-suspend --quirk-test --quirk-s3-bios" makes the
computer resume normally with fully working display.
