This is down to the lack of the ide-cs module in the stock ubuntu
kerrnel. Many bugs asking for this, no reason surfaced for why it isn't
included. Totally irritating to say the least!

In feisty, I have this problem on an IBM Thinkpad x31. It is due to the
lack of the ide-cs driver from the stock ubuntu kernel in my case. I
must say I find it tedious compiling a custom kernel to use a CF reader.
I see no reason why this module is not included.

problem, I am able to perform a hibernate/resume cycle and sound works
fine.

This occurs on my Thinkpad x31 Pentium-M 1.6GHz
After a hibernate resume cycle, the processor will not go above 1GHz.
The option to go above 1GHz is still shown but doesn't work. After a
reboot or a cold boot everything works as it should (i.e. upto 1.6GHz)
