It is the source for GoogleTest as shipped with 16.10. In 17.04 the package
changed name (and version). This package is (or was) shipped as source only
leaving users to execute the build. Some of the results of that build
process no doubt remain.

Not just borders. I suspect it is anything drawn from images held in
graphics card memory. All of these images should be invalidated on
resume, but instead we just get whatever junk is present. I have
applications where the entire display area is corrupted. These
applications do use volatile images
Resuming after sleep now gives significant corruption in what were
probably off screen bitmaps. Areas which are mostly white speckled with
a few coloured dots.
