It manifests itself in either of two ways:
- I get a little "stub menu" which contains no items - see attachment
- I get a menu as expected, but clicking on a menu item has no result

I should also add the USB 3.0 controller on the motherboard is an
ASMedia ASM 1042. It works fine with another USB 3.0 device, an ADATA
C103 16 GB flash drive.

This is in a Vantec CB-ISATAU3, an IDE/SATA USB3.0 adapter. It works
fine in USB 2.0 mode, but it does not work in USB 3.0, and indications
