hi Bastien. it's a pity we never managed to get bauble-1.0 into Debian,
and that it had to disappear from ubuntu. bauble (now going under the
name of ghini) is still the only software dedicated to the management of
botanical collections that can be easily installed on a Debian based system.

as far as I understood, this is related to the need felt in Portuguese speaking
languages to have the ç at hand.
unfortunately this has gone a bit to far and there is now no easy way to type
ć, short of learning its code.

I found a couple of suspect lines upstream. seems that the cases
acute+c/acute+C have been hard coded to produce
GDK_KEY_ccedilla/GDK_KEY_Ccedilla.
gtkimcontextsimple.c, in function check_quartz_special_cases, around
line 402:
case GDK_KEY_dead_acute:

so you are pushing development towards + producing <ç>.
I think it's wrong, inconsistent with the rest, but fine, we agree that we
disagree on this.
problem is thatnow also produces <ç> and
that there is no composition any more giving <ć>.
