I have experienced this bug on two Ubuntu desktop 12.04.5 x64 systems, copying
to a debian 7 / samba 3.6 share.
I haven't tried other OS versions though.
Steps to reproduce:
Open remote share so it gets gvfs-mounted under ~/.gvfs
cd ~
cd .gvfs/path/to/remote/samba/share
cp ~/huge_file .
Speed:
Oddly enough, copying ~/huge_file to the same remote samba share _with
Nautilus_ maxes out the wire too.
So it appears to be an issue with cp and gvfs.

I initially thought this was a bug too, but I think it isn't. I simply
had to set the correct environment variable.

Title:
bacula-fd won't automatically start at boot
To manage notifications about this bug go to:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bacula
Public bug reported:
bacula-fd works perfectly on the machine. The only problem is that when
I reboot the computer, bacula-fd doesn't start at boot, so I have to log
in and issue /etc/init.d/bacula-fd start.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04
Package: bacula-fd 5.0.1-1ubuntu1
ProcVersio
I've been lucky enough to never experience this bug on my machines, but I'd
like to provide my 2 cents about what could cause the issue.
The log rotation system seems to be configured to rotate once a day:
-rw-r- 1 syslogadm 125K 2011-09-13 17:15 syslog
-rw-r- 1 syslog
Strangely enough, on another PC which has the same ubuntu version, with
the only difference being it's 32 bit instead of 64, the problem has
never happened...

I spoke too early. Just rebooted the machine: Xorg was continuously
restarting.

I'm seeing a similar problem on 10.04.2. Can I post here or should I
