Lenovo T410s: still suffering from this bug.
Workaround as mentioned works:
Install indicator-cpuspeed speed down to 2400MHz. Running even during heavy
load.
Boot messages related to think_acpi are as follows:

I've fallen back to kernel 3.0.0-17-generic.
This one is running much better.
With the latest upstream 12.04 kernel my system powered down every hour and so
fast that I could not react.
After falling back to 3.0.0-17-generic things look much better. My

Intel Core i3 External Moni
Same for me. I can confirm that finally my external VGA plug works.
Tested with dual-monitor setup and single monitor. Works with Thinkpad
T410s based on iCore5 (as far as I know) with intel graphics card.
Hopefully this fix goes upstream.

I'm experiencing the same issue on a new installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
64bit (with latest kernel) on a Lenovo ThinkPad T410s also with intel
graphics adapter (based on the i5Core).
Strange thing is that a Lenovo ThinkPad T510 works without problems
(this one is based on i7Core but also intel graphics
