On ubuntu 14.04 the taopm works just fine.
On ubuntu 16.04 tao starts, renders properly the graphic window of the given
physical model of the instrument from *.tao script file, it seams to be working
like it should, but every trial to actually render the sound ends with erro
This affects me to on Ubuntu Gnome 17.10, I reported the bug using the
report tool.

I was having this trouble after upgrading to ubuntu 17.04, I think I've found a
workaround.
I simply uninstalled the following packages
geoclue and geoclue-ubuntu-geoip.
Now it appears off on the settings and on the top bar.
