I got rid of this using Compiz Settings Manager. There one must open
Windows decoration plugin and change the value of "Decorated windows"
field to "!(state=maxhorz)". I don't know if this is systematic soluti

I have same issue not only with VLC but also gwenview and Digikam
(editor window). Seems to be issue with QT and/or KDE programs.

I tested psmouse-alps-dst-1.1.tbz with Quantal on Dell 3360 and
multitouch does work. Side scrolling is not working though pobablz just
need to be set correct margins for the touchpad. ALT-F3 switch off/on is
working, though the LED indicator is not (as expected).

I8kutils are not ulitimate solution because of two reasons. First any
launch of i8kfan or cat /proc/i8k cause whole system microfreeze, which
makes system unworkable, second it seems that bios has it's own control
over the fans so i8k would have to be fighting with that all the time.

Also issues with Dell Vostro 3360. The fan is initially silent though,
when temperatures hits about 50 it starts pulsing (faster and slower,
not much noise but disturbance), when the temperatures hit 60 or so fan
starts very fast and will be like that for very long.

It's not only zombies, the notes synchronization doesn't work at all. I
get rid of zombies by deactivating the sync, though not possible to set
it up again. Seems like local service on the port 8000 is not running
properly.
