yes I know, but I was confused by the fact that this bug seemed fixed by
foomatic-db-engine, instead it seems to be a cups issue still not fixed.
Anyway, I've tested your last pdftops and it seems to work fine!
BTW, the printer involved is a Ricoh MP C2050.

I've upgrade to Jaunty my HP EliteBook 8530p with an ATI HD3650 and there is no
way to use the fglrx driver provided by Catalyst 9.4 **AND** 9.5.

Both printing directly from OpenOffice and from a PDF in Evince!

The current pdftops is a binary file, while your is a shell script, so cannot
compare them. What was the problem?

After upgrade from 8.10 to 9.04, whenever I print a document on a Ricoh
printer mapped via SMB share which was working perfectly on 8.10, I get
some character replaced by a black square as big as the charatect

After upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04 64 bit on my HP EliteBook 8530p with ATI HD
3650, I can confirm that fglrx 8.600 provided by Jaunty is not working.
The machine is hanging with Black Screen of Death.
The Xorg.0.log is not reporting anything useful. I was not able to catch any

I manually edited (with minor changes) menu.lst and on the next kernel update,
menu.lst came back to its original form...
Since the first time, I have manually re-edited menu.lst on each
upgrade... It seems like the updater doesn't checks whether menu.lst
