Apparently, other people are experiencing that pictures or photos outside of
the Picture folder are not being displayed in LightDM.

Problem was solved by restarting the computer. This seems to be a weird
occurrence (bug?), so I am not sure if I should mark it as "invalid".
Perhaps we should investigate why pidgin's launcher was "invisible" in
Unity Launcher until the computer was restarted.

But, it still applies that some newly installed apps's name don't show on Unity

Inability to open right click dialog after xkill

Problem: After killing the "dekstop" (?) with xkill, the desktop becomes
unresponsive.
Seteps to reproduce:
1) Alt + F2
2) Type "xkill", and press ENTER.
3) click on the empty desktop
4) Desktop wallpaper disappears. (It becomes black)
5) Right click becomes impossibl
In my case this error report launched when I was scanning or importing
new songs in Rhythmbox for the first time.
Ubuntu Precise with all the updates applied.

I get the following when running in the Terminal:
xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ redshift
GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_type_instance_get_private: assertion `instance !=
NULL && instance->g_class != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Running Xubuntu Precise 64 bit Live USB and I encoutered the same
problem.
Redshift crashed upon changing the Time Zone with "sudo dpkg-reconfigure
tzdata" and initiating RedSfhit within the menu.
The Xubuntu image is from the Daily Iso downloaded today at March 8,
2012.

I am running a LiveUSB with a Xubuntu 64-bit daily iso that I downloaded today.
Upon installing the Broadcom STA Wireless driver there was an icon on the top
panel that showed an "app has crashed".
