This bug follows bug 1650782.
Media has been verified, no errors.
In the other bug the installer crashed after I manually partitioned the disk in
a particular way through the setup program.
To try to workaround it instead of Install Ubuntu I selected Try Ubuntu.
Launched the
ISO is correct.

My firefox (35) really became unusable... screen doesn't refresh at all
when switching tabs..problem isn't on the page only but on the firefox's
window as well (like on the active tab and scrollbars redrawing)

In that bug some parts of the screen are still visible (or at least some
windows) while my screen is TOTALLY unreadable (except mouse pointer)

but my screen is totally unreadable (only mouse pointer is clearly visible (and
moves) :)
I can reboot the system with a console window ctr-alt-f1 -> login ->
sudo reboot.
Interestingly I have
same problem here.

Solution in post #370 works (almost) for me (i've tried other supposed
solutions on internet but nothing worked)
I say almost because on win7 x64 I have speeds of 7540 kbps in download
Before trying steps in post 370 I obtained 721 kbps after I obtained 4566 (so
it is at least usable even if not
